Multimedia Projects
While working at Amiable Technologies and Infonautics, Inc., I have been involved with several multimedia
projects. Most notably, SportsSLEUTH.com Media Kit, the TechLINE CD and FlexiFont CD.
SportsSLEUTH.com Media Kit
- The SportsSLEUTH.com Media Kit provided potential advertisers and partners with an easy-to-follow display of all the available opportunities with SportsSLEUTH.com.
- The SportsSLEUTH.com Media Kit was designed using Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- The Kit was available via the Internet as HTML and as a downloadable PowerPoint Show. It was also available in a print version.
- Download the SportsSLEUTH.com Media Kit here.
Give the QB a Concussion
- SportsSLEUTH.com commisioned a Flash based game to promote the SportsSLEUTH.com brand and to acquire users.
- The game offered players a chance to knock well known NFL QBs out of the game. If the game player didn't win, he was taunted by a truly offensive lineman.
- At the end of the game, players were offered the opportunity to vote for their favorite sack scene, and to be entered into a contest to win a t-shirt./li>
- Entering the contest allowed SportsSLEUTH.com to offer the players the chance to sign up for SportsSLEUTH.com as well as accept offers for free magazines and the like.
- Download the game here.
TechLINE CD
- The TechLINE CD was produced for end users by Amiable's Product Support Group. It was
given away to end-users who upgraded their software or visited Amiable Technologies' booth at
tradeshows. The CD fullfilled several purposes:
- Serve as a giveaway to current customers who stop by the company's booth at a
tradeshow.
- Give customers a way to view Amiable's web site even if they do not have Internet
access.
- Provide customers a way to sign up for Internet access.
- Serve as an all in one update disk for customers who cannot, or would rather not
download large updates from the web.
- The CD-ROM is an HTML navigated collection of technical notes, tips, updates and
patches. The CD also contains a complete copy of Amiable's web site.
- The CD-ROM contains Internet Explorer for Macintosh and Windows to view the content on
the CD and offers Internet Connectivity as well.
FlexiFONT CD
- Amiable Technologies bundles fonts with their software. A large number of support issues
were associated with font installation questions. The remastering of the FlexiFONT CD
presented an opportunity to create a CD that would reduce the burden on the Product
Support Group. The goals of the CD-ROM were as follows:
- Drastically reduce the number of font related calls coming into the Product Support call
center.
- Automate installation of helper applications like Adobe Type Manager.
- Provide a pleasing and familiar interface to the end-user.
- Offer online help to the user so they could help themselves.
- The CD-ROM takes advantage of Windows 95's AutoRun feature to get the user started
installing his fonts.
- The setup application on the CD-ROM determines whether Adobe Type Manager (ATM) is
already installed. If it is not, the Setup will install ATM for the user.
- After the installation of ATM is completed, a shortcut to the setup application is added
to the Startup group and the computer is rebooted.
- When the computer reboots it will rerun the CD's Setup program and this time,
determining that ATM has been installed, will start ATM so the fonts can be added.
