I have been involved in several Internet projects. Both corporate and personal. Below
are descriptions, background information as well as links to the sites.
BetterStatistics.com Home Page
- BetterStatistics.com endeavors to create a better way to understand hockey by applying statistical analysis to NHL statistics.
- Designed using Microsoft Visual Studio.Net, BetterStatistics.com utilizes
ASP.net to connect to a Microsoft Access Database.
SportsSLEUTH.com Team Page
- Recognized by Yahoo! Internet Life as one of the '50 Most Incredibly Useful Sites on the Internet' SportsSLEUTH.com provided local coverage of the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NASCAR, and Division One College football and basketball. Users could follow up to five of their favorite teams through the site and from a customized daily e-mail.
- Launched in July, 1999 SportsSLEUTH.com grew to be a premier destination of sports information on the Internet.
- As the Product Manager for SportsSLEUTH.com my responsibilities included everything from writing a daily trivia question for the site (yes that is a picture of me) to verifying the quality of the content brought back by the search spider.
- A new user experience was underway before the site was shut down. Here is a sample of what the site was going to look like.
The Site was redesigned the following in mind:
- Highlight original content written by SportsSLEUTH.com writers
- Provide opportunities to cross promote features on the site.
- Create additional revenue positions above the 'fold' on the page.
- Present better organized navigation on the site.
Amiableworld.com
Support Page
- From its inception in early 1996 until July 1998, I was in charge of creating and maintaining the
Support section of the Amiable Technologies web site.
- The first goal was to gather as much information as was already available and to convert
it to HTML for posting to the web site. The original web site lacked a clear look and
feel. The second revision adopted a more consistent interface.
- A third revision capitalized on the amiableworld domain name giving each section of the web
site a different portion of the world as its theme. The Support section's theme was Egypt.
The Marketing department supplied the graphics and introductory text to the site.
Originally the Support section's content was obscured by the theme. Large graphics and
introductory text made the content secondary.
- A restructuring was undertaken shortly thereafter to make the site more useful. Emphasis
was placed on the content, making it easier to find relevant information. The site was
transferred to a Server with FrontPage extensions installed, expanding the technologies
available to the web site. A search engine was added to the Support Home page. The e-mail
links for Support were converted to online forms, and online registration was added.
- A password protected site was added in conjunction to the beta cycle of a new software
product. Security was added to limit the site to use by beta testers only. A discussion
group where beta users could help solve each others issues with the software was part of
the Beta Test site as well.

- Combining two of my passions, hockey and computers, I created this web site for one of
the hockey teams I play for. The site was updated after each game. Sound bites summarizing
each game are available from the site.
